Meet Our First Drivers: The Heart of Twende

Twende isn't just an app — it's a community. And at the heart of that community are our drivers. They are fathers, students, entrepreneurs, and dreamers. They know every shortcut in Goma, every pothole to avoid, and every neighborhood by heart. They are the reason Twende works.

Our first cohort of drivers went through weeks of preparation: interviews, vehicle inspections, safety training, and onboarding sessions. They learned how to use the app, how to handle emergencies, and how to deliver a professional, respectful ride experience. Each one received two free helmets and a branded Twende jacket — symbols of the trust we place in them.

What sets Twende drivers apart isn't just verification — it's pride. They're part of something bigger. They're building a new standard for transport in Goma, one where professionalism and safety come first. Many of them told us they joined because they were tired of the stigma around motorcycle taxis and wanted to be part of the change.
